The Deanery of Mar
Over the course of time, and at different times, the Deanery of Mar had thirty-seven parishes within it, all but three of which were appropriated - eleven to Aberdeen cathedral, two to Arbroath Abbey, three to the Knights Templar at Maryculter, two to St Andrews cathedral priory, five to Monymusk Priory, five to the hospital at Kincardine O'Neil, two to St Germain's Hospital at Leith, one to Scone Abbey, one to Cambuskenneth Abbey, and two were 'mensal' churches of the bishop of Aberdeen.
